OzFox is go

We're off to a great start.
Yesterday we kicked off with Ken Levy's opening keynote showcasing many of the VFP9 features. Next up Rick with sharing .Net web services, then Cathi with VFP and .Net in action.
After lunch David showed us some of the VFP9 user interface enhancements, Mike talked about exception handling and then Doug blew us away with reporting features. Scott finished a jam packed day with his cool Solution Explorer tool.
I'll add details when I get time. See also Andrew Coates blog.

Single day registrations

Due to developer demand we've added a single day registration option to attend OzFox.
Come for a day (perhaps fly up from Melbourne or down from Brisbane) and see all the speakers. Come on Monday and you'll hear Ken's opening keynote.
Stick around for the Conference dinner.

1 week to go - iPod and VFP prizes

There's only a week to go until OzFox - I can hardly wait.
We've had a few more registrations which is great.
As an added incentive to attend we're putting all registrants in the draw to win an iPod Mini and a copy of VFP 9.
The winner will be announced by Ken Levy at the conference.

2 weeks to go

There's less than 2 weeks to go now until OzFox. I've finished almost all the preparation including conference bags and final timetable.

Also, a few people have asked about single day registrations. Email me at cb@talman.com.au if this is of interest to you too.

Promoting OzFox

We're looking for ways to promote OzFox - it seems many Foxies in Australia haven't heard about it. We'd hate developers to miss out on Ken, Doug, Rick and the rest of the gang just because I couldn't reach them. Please let people know, or if you have any suggestions email me at cb@talman.com.au

OzFox Early Bird Special extended to this Friday

We've extended the Early Bird Registration Special until this Friday.

OzFox sessions skill levels

This one is for the people coming or considering coming to OzFox. It was obvious at Devcon that people's skill levels covered a big range, eg some were experts in XML, some had no idea what it was. As a result, a few of the OzFox speakers asked me what skill level they should be aiming for, after they don't want to dumb it down for an advanced group, nor have it go over everyone's heads.

So, let me know what you'd like. I'm thinking it is better to aim the talks high for the more advanced users. That way, even if you're getting left behind you can grab a speaker or OzFox colleague after the session and ask them questions. But let me know if you think differenty. Send me an email to cb@talman.com.au

OzFox speakers are excited

I had the privilege of meeting with Ken Levy, Rick Strahl, David Stevenson and Doug Hennig whilst I've been here at FoxPro Devcon. All of them are super gracious, very generous with their time and ultra supportive of OzFox. It was a great time meeting them and hearing about their plans for Sydney and OzFox.

Australia, you are in for a real treat in November.
